A stainless-steel sculpture by Werner Alois Stanggassinger, with verified knot identity. Its knot type, the trefoil T(2,3), is the knot of the curve y² = x³ — and that curve carries the first Rogers–Ramanujan identity: Σn≥0 qn² / (1−q)(1−q²)···(1−qn) equals the product of 1/(1−qm) over all m ≡ 1 or 4 mod 5. Huang, Jiang and Oblomkov conjectured one such identity for every torus knot; Huang, Lau and Ono (2026) proved it.
